1. Introduction

Welcome to RentSafe ("we", "our", or "us"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RentSafe website, and services (collectively, the "Services"), specifically designed for students and NYSC corps members.

By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not access or use our Services.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use our Services. By using our Services, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 18 years of age
• You are a tenant, a student or an NYSC corps member, or seeking accommodation as such
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• You will comply with these Terms and all applicable laws and regulations

3. Account Registration

To access certain features of our Services, you may need to create an account. When you register for an account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information
• Like and comment on complaints that you have others have submitted
• Maintain and promptly update your account information
• Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
• Immediately notify us of any unauthorized use of your account
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account

We reserve the right to disable any user account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms.

4. User Content

Our Services allow you to post, link, store, share, and otherwise make available certain information, text, graphics, videos, or other material ("Content"). You are responsible for the Content that you post, including its legality, reliability, and appropriateness.

By posting Content on our Services, you grant us the right to use, modify, publicly perform, publicly display, reproduce, and distribute such Content on and through our Services. You retain any rights you may have in such Content.

You represent and warrant that:

• The Content is yours or you have the right to use it
• The posting of your Content on our Services does not violate the privacy rights, publicity rights, copyrights, contract rights, or any other rights of any person or entity

6. Rental Complaints

Our Services include a platform for students and NYSC corps members to report rental complaints. When submitting a complaint:

• Provide accurate and truthful information
• Do not submit complaints that are defamatory, malicious, or intended to harm others
• Understand that we do not verify all information in complaints
• Acknowledge that we are not responsible for resolving disputes between tenants and landlords

We reserve the right to remove complaints that violate these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, are inappropriate for our Services.

7. Intellectual Property

Our Services and their original content (excluding Content provided by users), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of RentSafe and its licensors. Our Services are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of Nigeria and foreign countries. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

8. Limitation of Liability

In no event will RentSafe, its affiliates, or their licensors, service providers, employees, agents, officers, or directors be liable for damages of any kind, under any legal theory, arising out of or in connection with your use of our Services, including any direct, indirect, special, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless RentSafe, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, suppliers, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of our Services.

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to our Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use our Services will immediately cease. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using our Services or contact us to request account deletion.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on our website. Your continued use of our Services after any such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
